LINEAR AIR TRACK

LINEAR AIR TRACK The Air Track works in the principles of air-cushion. It is used with a Mini-Air Source to pump air into the hollow space, and there are numbers of air vents on the two working surface of a hollow track. The compressed air spreads out from the air vents on the working surface of the track, so the air-cushion forms between the surface of the air track and the inner surface of glider. Length of 1.5 meters. The following experiments can be done : a)       Determining the velocity in the uniform rectilinear motion / verifying Newton’s First Law; b)       Determining the mean of velocity & instantaneous velocity in the non-uniform rectilinear motion; c)       Determining the acceleration in the uniformly variable rectilinear motion; d)       Studying the relations between the distance traveled & time taken in the uniformly variable rectilinear motion; e)       Determining the gravitational acceleration; f)        Verifying of Newton’s Second Law; g)       Verifying of Newton’s Third Law; h)       Verifying of the theorem of kinetic energy; i)         Verifying of the theorem of momentum; j)         Verifying of the law of conservation of momentum; k)       Verifying of the law of conservation of mechanical energy; l)         Study on the law of simple harmonic oscillation.
